Live Update: Nigeria 2-Guinea Bissau 0 at 91 minutes of play(AFCON)

A total of 24 teams started the competition but 16 teams now remain as we head into the knockout rounds of the tournament. The Super Eagles of Nigeria finished top of group D after three flawless victories against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau. As a result, they were to face the third best team from Group F and eventually got drawn against Tunisia in the round of 16.

Tunisia are going to be the third North African opponent which the Super Eagles will be facing in the tournament (after Sudan and Egypt) but they won’t be an easy opposition. In my opinion, they are the toughest round of 16 opponents Nigeria could get.

The Carthage Eagles had a slow start to their AFCON campaign with two defeats from three games but that is not to say they will be an easy nut to crack. They showed the world what they are capable of with their only victory, which was a 4-0 drubbing of Mauritania. Their danger man is their captain – Wahbi Khazri and on his day, the former Sunderland striker is very capable of causing problems for the back line of the Super Eagles.

Meanwhile, the match between Nigeria and Tunisia will face off for a place in the quarter final on Sunday (January 23rd) at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
