Sheikh Gumi: The Human Right Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has called on the Nigerian Army to quickly arrests and prosecute the Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Gumi over his recent comments that Christians soldiers killing bandits.
The National leader of the HURIWA urged the Nigerian Army to arrest and prosecute Sheikh Gumi over his interaction with the bandits.
The Association want the Nigerian Army should continue their good work and not to relent, while they issuing to Gumi whose recent fraternity with terrorists amounts to treason.
Meanwhile, the top ranking in the Nigerian Army has recently want Gumi and others, “with their opinion of utterance in Nigeria, which goes against the unity of this country”, he warned.
The Army made it clear that they do not deploy troops along religious or ethnic lines, contrary to Gumi’s statements to bandits that it was Christian soldiers killing them.
Although, the group said;
The failure of the Nigerian Army to “act decisively to protect the integrity of both military institutions and the war on terror from the persistent treasonous actions and spoken words of Sheikh Gumi, shows that in Nigeria the law is a respecter of certain persons because of their religion and ethnicity.”
Emmanuel Onwubiko(HURIWA’s National Coordinator), in his statement,
Reads; “Taking practical and law-based action against Sheikh GUMI is the only way the Nigerian Army can demonstrate what it has always been known for as a professional institution whose leadership has always been recognized as constitutional purists.
