Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s family has announced the revocation of the appointment of the pro-Biafra agitator’s principal counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) and Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
This was reportedly contained in a statement released by Kanu’s younger brother, Kanunta Kanu, and uploaded on his Twitter account on Thursday.
“I hereby formally notify @MikeozekhomeSAN and @lfeanyiEjiofor that their services are no longer required in the #MaziNnamdiKanu case pending before the Supreme Court of Nigeria and all matters concerning him,” said the statement, headlined “Notice of Dismissal.”
Ozekhome’s reported unwillingness to allow Kanu’s personal physicians access to him for the urgent ear surgery was one of the reasons for his dismissal, according to Nnamdi Kanu’s brother.

“After Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case on May 11th 2023, Prof Mike Ozekhome SAN has refused to see his client in DSS headquarters Abuja, despite several messages from #MNK to see him,” he said.
“Secondly, for delaying the medical doctors who were scheduled to examine #MNK on June 5th, despite the fact that he and Bar. lfeanyi Ejiofor were duly informed on June 2nd, and #MNK told them to notify his family to make arrangements.” Prof Mike Ozekhome SAN and Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor are now SACKED as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s counsels for these and other apparent reasons.
“The Kanu family appreciates your time and efforts thus far; please hand over the legal documents as soon as possible.”
