Raymond Dokpesi, the founder of DAAR Communications Ltd and a senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), died at the age of 71.
According to reports, a family member confirmed the news on Monday, confirming that the media mogul died at a hospital in Abuja.
Dokpesi has been battling health concerns since suffering a stroke just after the end of the recent Ramadan fast, according to an unidentified family source. Despite his continuous health care, tragedy struck during one of his monthly gym workouts, according to The Whistler Newspaper.
According to the source, an electrical mishap occurred while Dokpesi was using gym equipment, culminating in a stroke that took his life.
The Dokpesi family is scheduled to issue an official statement about their tragic loss soon.
