Over a hundred terrorists from the Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd (JAS) Boko Haram sect were killed in a weeklong coordinated strike by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on the outskirts of Borno State’s Gwoza local government area.
The precision intelligence-led airstrikes carried out by the air component under “Operation Warun 3” between June 9 and June 11, 2023, between Grazah and Wa-Jahoda, on the outskirts of the Mandara Mountains in the Gwoza local government region, resulted in the annihilation of the terrorists.
According to a report obtained by a counterinsurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, and made available to LEADERSHIP, the first airstrikes were carried out in Grazah, in a location administered by the Boko Haram terrorists and also serving as a meeting point.
Meanwhile, Air Marshall IO Amao, the Chief of Air Staff, launched an intensive offensive air operation dubbed “Operation Warun 3” across all theaters of operation, with the Air Component of “Operation Hadin Kai” as the major objective.
