The highly anticipated second leg clash between Real Madrid and Chelsea would take place today, Tuesday. These two clubs have a rich history in the Champions league, and so this game would mean everything to both sides. Winning this game wouldn’t be easy for both teams, most especially Chelsea who have become a shadow of their former self.
Real Madrid who are the kings of the Champions league would give their best in this game, despite winning the first leg, hence, Chelsea shouldn’t expect an easy game.
One player who was responsible for Chelsea’s loss to Real Madrid in the first leg is Vinicius Jr. The Brasilian forward provided two assists in the game, and also completed the most dribbles in the match. Vinicius Jr made Chelsea defense look like that of a lower division club, and always found space in Chelsea’s penalty box to give out dangerous passes and shots. If Chelsea want to record a win over Real Madrid, one thing they must focus on is caging Vinicius Jr.
This wouldn’t be an easy task, however, Frank Lampard can use the same tactics England Used in stopping Mbappe at the World Cup. Recall that Kylian Mbappe was a huge problem for many full backs in the recently concluded World Cup, however, one defender he couldn’t get past easily was Walker.
When France played against England, Walker was provided with extra support from both midfield and defense.
What England players did was simply joining Walker at his full back position whenever Kylian Mbappe had a confrontation with him. This made Mbappe less effective in that game because he couldn’t find space to attack.
