Chelsea have been monitoring Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in preparation for a summer transfer.
Chelsea: With the Italian club’s financial difficulties, now could be an excellent time for the Blues to sign the Serbian player.
According to Football FanCast transfer insider Pete O’Rourke, any departure from Turin could be imminent due to Juventus’ problems.
Since his £66.6m move from Fiorentina in January 2022, Vlahovic has not hit the heights he achieved previously with La Viola but he is still highly sought after and Serbian FA president Nenad Bjekovic once described him as being;
“Better and more complete than Erling Haaland”.
Vlahovic has eight goals in 12 Serie A appearances this season and earns a weekly salary of £215k.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is no stranger to splashing out on transfers, and while CIES Football Observatory values the 23-year-old at up to £71m, if negotiations prove fruitful given Juve’s need for funds, it could be a wise move for Chelsea, as Vlahovic shares many similarities with Romelu Lukaku, who has struggled since his return from Inter Milan.
As a result, if Chelsea can sign Vlahovic this summer, they may be on their way to glory under Graham Potter.
