Chelsea is currently training in Abu Dhabi for the upcoming season, and all of their injured players are present.
The fact that the injured players traveled to Abu Dhabi does not guarantee that they will all be available when the season resumes on Boxing Day, with N’Golo Kanté and Ben Chilwell expected to return later.
Kanté, for example, would not return until the spring after undergoing hamstring surgery in October, while Chilwell was expected to miss the entire month of January due to a hamstring tear.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are said to be “optimistic” about being able to call on Reece James and Wesley Fofana for their first game of the season on December 27 at Stamford Bridge against AFC Bournemouth.
James and Fofana suffered knee injuries, but they have made good progress in their rehabilitation, which included a special rehab trip to Dubai.
