Chelsea’s players have promised, mostly Christian Pulisic, but as it stands now, both parties will be slightly disappointed with how it has gone so far.
Christian Pulisic, who is a 23-year-old, was signed by the Blues in January 2019 for £58million from Borussia Dortmund, but he spent the rest of the season on loan at Signal Iduna Park.
No doubt, Pulisic has played 54 times in the Premier League, PL, and has found the back of the net 14 times.
The USA international has struggled with a number of injury problems during his time at Stamford Bridge, including this season, where he has featured just four times in all competitions under Thomas Tuchel.
The Chelsea wide-man has undeniable talent, with his speed and dribbling skills making him a very difficult attacker to defend against, and at 23, time is still very much on the American’s side. Although, in May, Pulisic insisted he was happy at Chelsea and was not reached to move away in the near future.
What might be more attractive for the former Borussia Dortmund star, though, is a move to Liverpool where Pulisic has been linked to on and off for a while now – and a reunion with Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp was in charge of the German club when Pulisic was starring for the youth teams and the now Reds manager would have been well aware of the talented American.
In fact, the Liverpool boss has raved about the talents of the Chelsea winger in the past, saying this when asked about potentially making a move for Pulisic when he was at Dortmund, as quoted by ESPN, in 2017;

“I like Christian, I’ve known him since he was a kid and he’s still not really old.
“He’s a fantastic player and it’s deserved that people think highly of him in America – in Germany, it’s the same.
“If he wants to play in England one day or whatever and he, for sure, has the chance to do so. But at this moment he’s in a really good club for his development. They know him already.
“He had not his best season last year but he is still a decisive player. It’s very important at that age group that there’s no rush because he still has 14 or 15 years to play in his career. That’s good.
“He wants to be, I’m sure, the best Christian Pulisic he can be. For this, there’s still space for development. If he would at one point join us I don’t know. But I like him and it’s not like that could be the problem.
“We respect contracts still and there is no market that I know about in the moment. We did our business and Dortmund is doing their business, so all good.”
The respect for Pulisic from Klopp is evident and the feeling is clearly mutual.
