After 10 days of quietness, the Revolving doors at Stamford Bridge finally welcomes its first signing of the Winter window, 16-year-old Centre-back Travis Akomeah, from Watford. Though it’s not a major signing or a deal fans may be eager to see, it is seen as an investment for the future and a potential backup for the team’s defence.
According to Fabrizio Romano who announced that the deal has been sealed, the blues have been following up the England Youngster along with other clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Bournemouth. However, after much talk, they were able to pry him over beating their English rivals to his signing.
Travis Akomeah who is described as an agile point block has already represented England’s youth team at 16 producing stellar performances on the field. He has started training with his new teammates at Chelsea and is tipped to become one of the best centre-backs in the coming years.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is still in frantic search of a left-back. A position which they have made a priority to fill this January with Chilwell nursing a long-term injury and Alonso soon to be out of contract.
According to reports they have made it a top priority to recall Emerson from Lyon after falling out of the race to sign Everton’s Lucas Digne with Aston Villa now frontrunners. There are also talks about Barcelona’s Dest, but a deal would be much harder for the former Ajax man.
Arsenal is the busiest among the Premier League big six this January window. The Gunners mean business this winter and have been linked with several players who are increasingly nearing a move to the Emirates.

According to reports, striker Folarin Balogun is going on Loan to Middlesbrough this month. The two sides have agreed on a deal that would see The England U-21 spend the rest of the season playing at the Riversides in the Championship.
