DSS invade school in Abuja, dismissed all the 140 staff teachers, alongside with the 1800 pupils and secondary school students back to their various home for weeks now, yet could not resume activities because of this in incident
Although, The community staff school managed by DSS was taken to court on several occasions by the staffs of the school who had complained of deregulation of their employment in the school, and even though the court ruled in their favour, according to a staff of the school who spoke to punch reporters, the school had refused to heed the judgement of the court.
During the pandemic, the staffs were paid half of their salary, and when the school resumed the students’ school fees was increased, but the management told the teachers that they would still have to make do with half their salary till further notice, and that they had no intentions of balancing up the half salary they paid during the pandemic lockdown.
When the staff protested the reduction of their salary, they were all given letters of dismissal and asked to leave the school premises.
According to the letter of disengagement they got, the school dismissed the staffs on account of their poor financial situation, due to the constraints brought about by the pandemic.
It looks like the school intends to employ fresh staffs and start all over again.
With this, what we happen to the 140 staff teachers of the school and their unpaid salaries?
