Report: Chelsea player 'impose his will' to secure transfer shift

Chelsea host Leeds United in the matchday 16 of the English Premier League tomorrow at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea hopes to get back to winning ways after a heavy 3-2 defeat to West Ham United last weekend. Chelsea is currently in poor form. The Blues dropped out of first place in the English Premier League and Champions League.

They conceded six goals and gave away leads four times in the last two games. Chelsea will hope to turn things around when they host Leeds United at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel needs to turn around the mini-crisis in the squad so as not to face an uncomfortable situation with the board. Thomas Tuchel seems to be gambling with tactics in recent matches. Some players seem to have lost confidence and should be dropped from the starting lineup.

1. Edouard Mendy

Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy is currently battling with confidence. Thomas Tuchel admitted that Mendy is suffering from a lack of confidence after his two mistakes cost Chelsea a win at London Stadium last weekend. He is currently in a rough period and should be dropped from the starting lineup to gain back confidence.

On a contrary, Kepa Arrizabalaga had a good outing vs Zenit St. Petersburg during the midweek UEFA Champions League. Kepa on several occasions saved Chelsea from conceding.

Chelsea could have conceded more than two goals in the first half of the match but Kepa saved Chelsea twice. Kepa should be introduced to the starting lineup in tomorrow’s match.

2. Romelu Lukaku

Summer signing, Romelu Lukaku has not yet recovered his best form. Romelu Lukaku slow down Chelsea’s attack after he was introduced in the second half of last weekend’s game vs West Ham United. As Conte said, Chelsea has not yet figured out how best to use Lukaku. He is not fitting well to Chelsea’s style of football.

Chelsea created a lot of opportunities in the first half of the match but produced few in the second half. Also, Romelu Lukaku had a few impacts during the midweek Champions League match vs Zenit St Petersburg. Romelu Lukaku is often slated for having a poor first touch, he hasn’t been in his best form after recovering from injury.

Kai Havetz seems to be in great form and should start ahead of Lukaku in tomorrow’s match. Chelsea creates chances and scores more goals with Kai Havertz leading the attack.

3. Saul Niguez

Saul was introduced to the starting lineup in the midweek Champions League. Saul has not yet adjusted to Chelsea’s style. He is also battling with the intensity of English football. Thomas Tuchel shouldn’t gamble on tomorrow’s match by starting Saul Niguez.
