Latest prediction from Michael Owen as he gives facts and analysis on the match between Chelsea vs Wolves this weekend.
Both teams set to boost their points in the EPL table based on their performance in this week matches, despite draw from Chelsea vs Everton.
Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen, has predicted some of the Premier League games that will be played this weekend.
Wolves will host Chelsea at Molineux Stadium on Sunday, while Tottenham will face Liverpool at home.
Leeds United will tackle Arsenal on Saturday evening, while Newcastle United will host Manchester City.
Providing his predictions, Owen told BetVictor: “Wolves continue to look a really solid outfit. Defensively they are superb, comfortably the best defence outside the top three. If they can just put a few more chances away, they’ll definitely be on the hunt for the top six.
“This is a big game for Chelsea after what was a very disappointing draw against Everton on Thursday. The pressure is now on them after dropping those points.
“I can’t see this being high scoring. Two of the league’s best defences are on show here, so I can see the odd goal deciding this. I’m going for 1-0 to Chelsea.”
Commenting on the Newcastle vs Man City game, Owen said, “I didn’t think Newcastle played badly at Anfield, but it was the same old story for them.
“City were exceptional against Leeds. When they play like that, they are the best team in the world. I think Newcastle can get a goal in this one. The fans will be really up for this game and that could inspire them. City will have too much quality, though and get a few of their own. 3-1 City.”
On the Tottenham vs Liverpool tie, Owen said, “Spurs have now not played a game in almost two weeks. There are positives and negatives to that. It’s given Antonio Conte more time on the training ground, which is a good thing. The worry would be if they have now lost some of their match sharpness and could come into this one rusty.
“I fancy Liverpool in every game at the minute. They are playing with so much confidence and are looking like the side of a couple of seasons ago. I can see Spurs scoring but Liverpool winning in the end. 3-1 to the Reds.”
Speaking on the Leeds vs Arsenal game, Owen said, “Bielsa looked like he couldn’t believe what happened at the Etihad. It was a disastrous showing and is one of the worst results of the Argentine’s career. Leeds will be desperate to show their best here.
“The atmosphere for this one will be fantastic. Leeds are firmly in the relegation mix and they need a big win to kickstart their season. I think they’ll get it here; I’m going for 2-1 to Leeds.”
