Liverpool could sell English centre-back Nat Phillips, Welsh winger Harry Wilson, Belgian forward Divock Origi, Wales full-back Neco Williams and Switzerland midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri before the transfer window closes.
The Reds have to do away with these five players to free up funds for new signings. Let’s take a look at this big names;
29-year-old Switzerland midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri and 26-year-old Belgian forward Divock Origi have not been regular starters with the club for over two seasons.
Divock Origi has been very ineffective since that Champions League final against Barcelona and his only contribution of note being the Anfield Merseyside derby last season. The 26-year-old had four goals and one assist last season though having very little game time.
Xherdan Shaqiri has had a decent playing career for himself but has been finding life difficult since his transfer to Liverpool under boss Jurgen Klopp. The 29-year-old has been struggling for form and not getting regular playing time is affecting his game.
The Switzerland midfielder played a total of 553 minutes in the Premier League last season having two assists and no goal.
Liverpool should sell the players and use the funds generated to buy fresh and young legs to compete for the title next season.
