As the saying goes, “hard work pays off” in this case, as one of Chelsea’s greatest ever players, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, is reportedly set to join England head coach Gareth Southgate’s coaching staff.
According to the leading sports news outlet, TalkSPORT, Hasselbaink will be joining England’s coaching staff as soon as possible to replace Chris Powell.
Meanwhile, Chris Powell worked with the Three Lions in the previous two major tournaments before leaving to become the head of coaching at Tottenham Hotspur’s academy.
Hasselbaink had a successful career as a footballer, playing for various top clubs in England and Europe.
Between 2000 and 2004, the former Netherlands international had his most memorable spell with Chelsea, where he scored 87 goals and assisted 24 times in 177 games.
