Chelsea started their pre-season tour in the United States this week.
Mauricio Pochettino chose a very shaky starting lineup, mostly made up of extremely young players, with an average age of just 19.
Despite the fact that the competition was not the best, they performed a fantastic job, winning the game 5-0.
But it was a positive result for Pochettino and Chelsea fans, and a few players distinguished out.
Ian Maatsen, a left back who was also required to play out of position as a left winger, was one of them. He not only performed well there, but he also scored two excellent goals and was named man of the match at the end of the game.
His future is uncertain because Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell are ahead of him in the squad, although he has stated his intentions.
“It will be good to have Eden Hazard back at Chelsea,” Mauricio Pochettino says of a star transfer
According to Absolute Chelsea, Maatsen stated, “I try to do my best.” It’s the best I can do. Of course, I intend to remain. They’ll decide if I prove it every day in training and work hard in games. Hopefully, I’ll be able to stay!”
