It has been revealed who Chelsea should have signed instead of Fofana and Koulibaly.
According to reports, former Chelsea defender William Gallas named 2022 FIFA World Cup star Josko Gvardiol as one of the players the club signed last summer instead of bringing Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly to Stamford Bridge.
While Chelsea have been linked with a move for Gvardiol, who impressed for Croatia in the 2022 World Cup, this online news platform understands that they would struggle to sign him now that Real Madrid and other top clubs have joined the race to sign the RB Leipzig star.

“Chelsea were linked with Gvardiol last summer, and they should’ve gotten him then,” Genting Casino’s Gallas said. “Instead, they received Fofana and Koulibaly.
“They already have Thiago Silva and Azpi [Azpilicueta], so getting Gvardiol may be difficult. It would have been a good move at the start of the season, but I’m not sure it is now.
“During the summer, Chelsea panicked. They saw some players and spent a lot of money on them, but they didn’t meet their value in my opinion.
“Some chairmen waste money when they have no idea what they’re doing,” he added.
