Facts emerged on Tuesday that the constant killing of Nigerians, especially Christians, by suspected Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram terrorists, was a ploy by the Federal Government of Nigeria to islamise the country.
Chairman of a human rights organisation, International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety), Nze Emeka Umeagbalasi, a Kano-based political party chieftain, Samuel Gbuzue and leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike, dropped this hint while reacting to the spate of killings going on in the country unabated.
According to Umeagbalasi, “300 Christians were massacred in Southern Kaduna from January 1 to July 20, 2020, by the suspected Jihadist Fulani herdsmen. The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, should protect the Nigerian secular state without bias to any religious group.
“Recall that 13 Benue State Christians were killed by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen at Ediukwu District, Ukpogbo, Aba Local Government Area, Abia State, about 4 am on August 10, 2020, scores declared missing and houses set ablaze and till date, no effort has been made by the Federal Government to arrest the perpetrators to face the wrath of the law because it is a sponsored bid to islamise the country.
“These killings and destruction of hard earned property have led to scores of youths escaping from the country for their dear lives.”
In the words of Gbuzue, whose son, Henry Ejikeme Gbuzue and wife, Onyinyechi Confidence Gbuzue, eloped to avoid being killed for their refusal to be converted from Christianity to Islam, “My son, Henry Ejikeme Gbuzue and his wife, Onyinyechi Confidence Gbuzue, left this country when they were declared among others as wanted to be killed by Federal Government security operators in Fulani herdsmen attire, for refusing to be converted from Christianity to Islam.
