President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Tahir Mamman as the minister of education in Nigeria. Tinubu unveiled the portfolios of his ministers on Wednesday through the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
Mamman’s appointment comes after emerging victorious among other qualified nominees. Tahir Mamman OON, SAN is a Professor of law and a Senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
And also an Educational administrator and the Director-general of the Nigeria Law School from 2005 to 2013. He is the current Vice chancellor of Baze University Abuja and member governing board of Niger delta development commission NDDC. He is a recognized member of the Body of Benchers. In 2010 he became a board member of the International Association of Law Schools based in Washington DC.

He was appointed a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in September 2015. The Federal Government of Nigeria awarded him the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in recognition of his achievements.
Professor Tahir Mamman has also served as HOD, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Maiduguri. He was also a member of the National Universities Commission in the past.
