Former Manchester United icon, Michael Owen has told Chelsea that their next game against Liverpool is a big decider if they will still be in the race for the title.

He warned that the Blues cannot afford any more ‘slip-ups’, adding that if they do, they could be out of the Premier League title race.

“Liverpool are sitting there, a point behind, but they have got a game in-hand. That game at Stamford Bridge – wow. That could be almost an eliminator.”

Owen, a former Liverpool striker, noted that even if Jurgen Klopp’s Reds suffer defeat in the hands of Thomas Tuchel’s Blues, they still have the capability of bouncing back and going on a winning run like Man City are doing at the moment.

According to him, Chelsea cannot “afford any more slip-ups now. I think they need four points out of the next two.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool suffered a 1-0 defeats in the hand of Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday, alongside with Chelsea’s poor performance which let to draw with Brighton at the Stamford Bridge stadium, leaving them in second, 8 points behind Manchester City.
