Chelsea Coach, Thomas Tuchel wants Chelsea to sell Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer. A source told Football Insider that Tuchel is willing to sell Lukaku and Werner in order to recruit a “world-class” striker.
Although, Chelsea signed Lukaku for £97million last summer in a club-record deal, 12 months after the £45million capture of Werner. Both strikers are under long-term contracts at Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku put pen to paper on a five-year deal upon his arrival from Inter Milan last August. Werner has just over three years remaining on his current agreement.
No doubt, Lukaku has contributed 12 goals and two assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
However, he has not scored a Premier League goal this calendar year.
It was revealed on 20 March that the Belgium international is “not happy” at Chelsea and wants to leave when the transfer window re-opens.
Meanwhile, The forward pair have struggled to nail down starting roles in the London giants’ highly competitive forward line this term. The Londoners could find it difficult to secure buyers for the high-earning duo, especially clubs willing to pay anywhere near their outlays.
