Former Cameroonian footballer and current president of his country’s football organization, Samuel Eto’o, has agreed to pay Erika Do Rosario Nieves €90,000, the product of the football legend’s exploits with Adileusa do Rosario Neves of Cape Verde.
Samuel Eto’o: Erika Do Rosario Nieves had originally requested that Eto’o be imprisoned for disputing the paternity of the 22-year-old girl. Erika Do Rosario Nieves, her mother, ended her romantic relationship with Eto’o in 2019.
According to the Spanish daily Marca, Eto’o has agreed to pay a €90,000 compensation to his daughter, whom he previously rejected.
After a court battle, Erika was legally declared to be Eto’o’s daughter in 2022.
Since then, the Cameroonian icon has been ordered to pay a backlog of €1400 a month in child support that he has failed to pay.
However, Eto’o and Erika’s lawyers reached an agreement this week to pay Erika’s child support straight into her bank account.
Eto’o’s daughter wanted the ex-footballer imprisoned and pushed for a 12-month term, but prosecutors dropped the case after a swift deal between both parties.

In 1998, Eto’o met Erika’s mother in a Madrid nightclub. Erika was born in 1999 after she became pregnant the same year. Since then, Eto’o has ignored the child’s care.
The Barcelona great can no longer dodge his duty and has opted to pay the fine in order to avoid additional shame.
