As Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain remain strong contenders for Brazilian wonderkid Endrick, it appears that Barcelona will be unable to compete for his signature.
Barça’s ties to the youngster grew stronger last weekend, when manager Xavi admitted that contacts had been made with the player and that the transfer would be dependent on him.
However, as Marca reports today, the Camp Nou club will not compete with Chelsea and PSG for this signing.
Barcelona is said to be unwilling to compete for a player who will only leave Palmeiras for a fee close to his release clause of €60 million.
Furthermore, Marca writes that Endrick did not only visit Barcelona, but also London and Paris to meet with Chelsea and PSG.
It’s said that the 16-year-old is looking for the ‘best possible contract,’ and that’s the kind of scuffle that Barcelona can’t get into because of their financial problems.
Endrick can only leave Brazil when he turns 18 in 2024, but clubs are rushing to secure his signature before then.
