Dietmar Hamann, a Bayern Munich icon, has suggested that Thomas Tuchel will resign as manager of the club barely two months after taking the post.
As things stand, the club’s 11th straight Bundesliga title win on Saturday was overshadowed by the dismissals of chief executive Kahn and sporting director Salihamidzic barely hours afterwards.
Former Bayern Munich and Liverpool footballer Hamann believes Tuchel, who was only appointed as coach in late March, may also resign, with another analyst stating it could happen today.
‘When you treat people like way, you have to ask yourself: Do you want to work for this club?’ he remarked on German television.
Tuchel’s departure is also not ruled out. But he’ll leave on his own.’
Erik Meijer, a fellow analyst, then added,’
I suspect he’ll have left the club by Monday.’
Bayern Munich defeated rivals Borussia Dortmund in a thrilling final afternoon. Jamal Musiala’s 89th-minute victory at Cologne was the game-winner as Dortmund were held to a 2-2 draw by Mainz, handing Bayern the title on goal difference.
CONFIRMED: Thomas Tuchel has finally completed his first Chelsea’s target worth £1 million
Tuchel remarked at Bayern’s victory celebration in Munich’s Marienplatz on Sunday:
‘Of course, it would be preferable if things calmed down and we could concentrate on football.
‘We have a lot of work to do. We need to play faster, better, and more consistently. We aim to get better on all levels. We must return as a group.
‘We want to make sure there’s a family sense and also insulate ourselves from external influences and viewpoints.
‘This is extremely crucial. Only then will we be able to demand anything from the players.’
