Following the inauguration of the President-elect, President Muhammadu Buhari has opted to transfer to the Glass House at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, making place for Bola Tinubu’s swearing-in.
During the transition phase, the renowned mansion functioned as a transitional abode for the leaving president and their spouse.
The Glass House has also traditionally played an important role in power transitions, serving as a symbolic and practical location for the outgoing president and their spouse.
The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, said this in a video posted on her Instagram page after touring the State House with the incoming First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu.
Senator Remi Tinubu expressed her thanks by mentioning her faith in divine direction to assist her contribute effectively to the nation during her tenure. She declared her desire to make a positive difference and continue the tradition of her predecessors.
“I’ve round the block. She graciously showed me around the place. And politely revealed a lot of stuff to me in a short amount of time, which was daunting for me to grasp. “But I believe God will help me to make a significant contribution to the nation,” she stated.
As Nigeria prepares for the incoming president’s takeover of power, the tour of the Glass House serves as a symbol of unity and collaboration between the outgoing and incoming administrations. The aim is that the torch would be handed smoothly, assuring the continuation of governance and national growth.
