Inter Milan’s vice president, Javier Zanetti, has commented on Chelsea’s rumored interest in the Italian club’s super star forward, Lautaro Martinez.
Last season, he was Inter’s leading goalscorer, helping the club win the Coppa Italia and finish second in the UEFA Champions League.
With Chelsea needing a centre forward who can score goals, the West London club have been linked with a move for the Argentine for a few weeks now.
But Zanetti, the former captain of Inter has made it very clear that there are no negotiations with Chelsea or any other club. According to him, Lautaro Martinez is very happy at Inter.
“There’s nothing with other clubs for Lautaro, no negotiations.
“I can guarantee that Lautaro’s very happy at Inter,” he added.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea would initiate talks with Inter, especially as they are apparently close to signing Nicolas Jackson, a 21-year-old Villarreal striker.
Many feel the team may attempt to get another striker even after Jackson’s contract is completed.
