Nigel James, the father of Chelsea star Reece, appears to have put an end to any speculation that his son could leave his boyhood club anytime soon.
In a positive sense, as the right-back has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, whether the transfer rumors are true or false, with the Spanish giants reportedly earmarking him as their long-term solution on the right side of defense, with Dani Carvajal nearing the end of his career.
His father has adamantly denied this, insisting that James only wants to stay at Chelsea, where he has played since the age of six.
Meanwhile, the UEFA Champions League winner wants to captain the Blues, which, given the amount of change in west London, may become a reality sooner rather than later.
“His ambition is to wear the Chelsea armband and captain the team,” Nigel James said.
