Senate President Godswill Akpabio has declared that funds have been transferred to the accounts of all lawmakers in order for them to enjoy their vacation.
According to News Notch NG, the Senate went on recess on Monday and will resume on September 26th.
Before adjourning, Akpabio named the chairman and vice chairman of each Senate committee.
He also confirmed 45 of the 48 ministerial nominations, leaving out three: former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufia, Delta State’s Stella Okotete, and Taraba State’s Abubakar Danladi.
In a viral video, Akpabio is heard indicating that a “token” had been issued to all senators’ bank accounts.

“In order for all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our bank accounts by the clerk of the Senate,” he explained.
“In order for you to enjoy your holiday, the Senate president has sent prayers to your mailboxes to assist you to travel safely and return,” he joked.
The news of the funds delivered to politicians’ accounts comes as citizens endure the pain of the elimination of fuel subsidies.
