CHELSEA NEWS: Chelsea’s full squad for the West Ham match has been revealed, with Wesley Fofana and Raheem Sterling both doubtful.
Chelsea returns to the Premier League today against West Ham in another London derby. The Blues are coming off three consecutive clean sheets as they travel to the London Stadium.
Graham Potter’s side drew 0-0 with Fulham last week, their second goalless draw in a row after being held by Liverpool two weeks prior. After struggling to break down Marco Silva’s side last Friday, Chelsea’s January signings will have another chance to shine today.
Mykhailo Mudryk, Enzo Fernandez, and Noni Madueke could all make their debuts against David Moyes’ side, while Benoit Badiashile is expected to keep his place in defense alongside Thiago Silva.
Wesley Fofana, the centre-back, may also make a welcome return. The former Leicester City player has not played since October, but he has returned to training with his teammates.
Raheem Sterling, who returned to Potter’s side last time out, could be forced to miss today after picking up a knock in training. Potter said ahead of the game:
“The players are getting closer. Wesley Fofana and Denis Zakaria have been training with the team.
“We’ve had a setback with Raheem Sterling, who was kicked on the side of his knee in training, so we’re assessing him and he’s doubtful for tomorrow. Mateo Kovacic has been training with the team, but he is not yet ready. But we do have choices.”
Here’s the complete team.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, Edouard Mendy, Marcus Bettinelli, and Gabriel Slonina were the goalkeepers.
Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James, Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly, Lewis Hall, Ben Chilwell, and Wesley Fofana are the defenders for the club.
Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Enzo Fernandez, and Carney Chukwuemeka are among the midfielders.
Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, David Datro Fofana, and Omari Hutchinson are the attacking players.
